Cajun washboard crawfish boil invitation w/ recycled corrugated cardboard and produce bag tutorial
Stop! Don't throw away corrugated cardboard or produce bags. The washboard was made with corrugated cardboard that came as packing material and the net under the crawfish was once a bag of oranges.
Cut corrugated cardboard down to size and paint on a light even coat of gesso. Let dry.
Spray generously and evenly with Tattered Angels tarnished silver. While still wet, repeat with Lindys Stamp Gang crème brulee cream. Let dry.
Swipe over center with white pigment ink pad to highlight. Antique edges heavily with Stampin up early espresso.
Cut small pieces of Stampin Up Burlap ribbon for straps. I used short pieces and just made loops. Tape to hold in place. Put two eyelets on top straps.
For the crawfish use the “By the Tide” stamp set by Stampin Up. Heat Emboss with Versamark ink and Black Embossing powder. Then watercolor with Stampin Up ink pads, Hello Honey and Real Red. Let Dry and cut out.
Cut a piece of your produce bag and glue it down with your crawfish at the same time making a sandwich. I used Glossy Accents by Ranger and it worked really well. Place under a heavy object and let dry for 10 minutes.
Print out your sentiment on card stock. Then cut out and go around the edges with a black sharpie. Assemble everything on black card stock.
