This technique is kind of like stamping off. It’s also a great way to use up the ink during the letterpress technique. Too often we wipe away all that lovely ink left on the embossing folder. This makes unique backgrounds and adds visual texture. No dimensionals were needed and you’ll have the added bonus of making three card fronts at a time. I’ve tried to be super clear on the letterpress technique but if you need further instruction there are tons of great videos online. Have Fun!

• Top card: Cut three pieces of cardstock 
Any color 4 X 5 ¼ 
Any color 3 ¾ X 5  
White cardstock 3 ¾ X 5 
Load Boho chic embossing folder with soft suede ink pad on the side with the stampin up logo. Use a swiping motion. Do Not Tap. 
Place the 3 ¾ X 5 piece of any color cardstock off center anywhere on the folder and run it through your bigshot. Without cleaning the folder place your piece of 4 X 5 ¼ into the folder and run it through. Still without cleaning your folder place your white cardstock piece over some of the darker and lighter area of the ink and run it through. We’ll be using this final white piece for our card front but the other two can be set aside for future projects.
• Middle Card: Early Espresso cardstock 4 X 5 1/4 . Use the Stampin Dazzle marker in gold to put a dot in each corner. 
• Card base: Soft suede cardstock 5 ½ X 8 ½

​• Sentiment: Heat emboss with black emboss powder and versamark ink around edges with the border stamp in the Hello stamp set on to a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock. Also the sentiment from same stamp set on white cardstock. I used the French version called Salute stamp set. Cut the sentiment out then cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock slightly larger. Cut a piece of the black embossed Daffodil Delight slightly larger than the crumb cake layer. Go around each piece with a black sharpie before assembling. 
• Focal point: Heat emboss flower from Remarkable You stamp set with black Emboss power onto white cardstock. Using a small paintbrush or an aqua painter lightly dampen inside the lines of the embossed flower. While still barely damp apply Daffodil Delight ink to the petals. Darkest near stem and lightening the color as you moves upwards towards tips of petals 3/4 of the way. Leave a white area on tips of the petals. 
When mostly dry apply Real Red ink to tips of petals concentrating the darkest red on tips working the red down into the yellow to create an orange. Move to the leaves, stem and up a little into the throat with Mossy Meadow ink. This will add depth to the petals. 
• Assemble your card completely then apply dots with a fine tip black pen on card base around soft suede cardstock.
